I have been wanting to make one of these name banners for my daughter for so long! I don't know why I didn't sooner, because I literally did it while she was napping one day!
Items needed:
Different fabric for each letter in name
Sewing machine (can be hand stitched or use fabric glue)
Letter Stencils
Scallop Edge Fabric scissors
Fabric scissors
Fabric glue
Fabric pins
Pen
Batting
Cord
Use Canva to make your letters. Make sure to have the letters as an outline to save on ink (you can do this by going to effects, then selecting 'hollow'). Print each letter & cut out.
Using each fabric, double layer(one layer facing up, the other down), place letters on fabric.
Cut each letter into square sections, leaving a couple cm on each edge.
Iron the fabric.
Cut batting same size as each square.
Layer your fabric with the batting (fabric facing right side out, batting, fabric facing right side on the bottom) pin letters to the fabric/batting sandwich.
Using your sewing machine, sew around the outline of the letters. If you don't have a sewing machine, simply cut letters out, glue the edges together, then stuff with fiber fill. Make sure to trace on the inside of the fabric instead of outside.
Using scallop edge scissors, cut the outline of each letter leaving approx. 1 cm along sewed edge.
Using small, even strips of one of your fabrics, make them into little loops by gluing one side onto the letter, folding it over, then gluing the other side on.
Once fabric glue is dried, string each letter onto the cord.
